"NO" on LCO. 3471 - Save OUR Connecticut Police Officers
We, the undersigned, are voicing our strong opposition to LCO. 3471, which poses a threat to the welfare and safety of our dedicated Connecticut police officers.
LCO. 3471 would have stripped away protections that Connecticut police officers rely on to do their jobs safely. The Connecticut State Fraternal Order of Police brought the proposal to their members, and the response was immediate.
Rather than a single letter from an organization, every supporter sent their own message to their own legislators. That turned one objection into tens of thousands of individually addressed emails landing in the inboxes of the people holding the vote.
The volume made the opposition impossible to characterize as a narrow special interest. These were constituents, writing from their own addresses, to their own representatives.
Every officer who signed knew their name was going straight to the desk of the person voting on it. That is what changed the conversation.
